Ok I know cool downs are done to prevent injury BUT I ABSOLUTELY HATE THEM!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! God they suck so much, and my coach always has ur run the same thing for a cool down. But lately we have been doing something different for our cool down..... During our cool down, the first mile we take easy and then the last mile we do what is called an "Indian Run", if you don't know what it is say something and I will explain, it is really fun and I suggest that anyone here running on a team try it.

Do explain what these Indian runs are!
Cool Downs are annoying, especaily after you finish intervals and other fast-tempo sprints.
However, Cool Downs are very important. they get rid of the lactic acid in your muscles that are eating away at them for energy that you lost when running. Avoiding cool downs won't just hurt you, it'll make you lose what you were trying to gain, pluse some.
There are different cool downs that you would need to do for different workouts. They are very important, so next time you go running, when you're hot, tired, and sore, don't skip cool down. Chronicaly, it'll hurt you up to the point that you won't be able to run anymore.

In an Indian Run, your team lines up in a single file line maintaining the same pace while the person at the back sprints to the front, once that person is at the front the new person that is at the back sprints to the front, this process is repeated until the end of the run. Its really fun and I think it works just as well as a tempo does.
